Darfur Christian Mission

For the Darfurian......

Picture
everything, EVERYTHING in their lives has been completely destroyed along with their loved ones. Every function of daily living has been reduced to survival and will never recover to the same interdependence that had comprised their culture.

It is hard to imagine, that we have allowed genocide to happen again, but it is true. It is estimate that 450,000 have been killed and millions pushed from their homes to the border of Chad, South Sudan and within IDP Camps ( Internally Displaced Persons Camp) within the charred landscape which was once their home.  There exist medicine, food and water for the body, but the only salve that exist for the soul of those that have witnessed the atrocities is the salvation of Jesus. - It is the Mission of  Darfur Christian Mission to establish a network that will provide the basic needs for the people of Darfur in the name of Jesus.  Read more by viewing our second quarter newsletter .. click here

To hear praises in Sudan that I had recorded in February of 2010 click audio link below

Alright in Christ Jesus!

If you click on the audio link above you will hear Dinka children singing praise at the end of a class session that I had taught on Character. Pictured are a few of the many children that I had had the pleasure of teaching, playing, eating with and sharing. Sudan has many downsides some of which include unsafe travel and lack of resources such as clean water and structures, hostile terrain, heat and hostile society however, the young generation of a new Sudan brings delight to the heart. Their resilience is a witness to the endurance of the human spirit in face of adversity. Some of the children had been subject to slave raiders, victims of genocide, and forced rape and bodily mutilation. Each have experienced true hurt, true pain and persecution. As you had prayed for my work and their well being they sang songs of praise to teach us that when you have seen the worst of humanity then you celebrate the best of God. - Those that have lived in hurt, no longer reside there, they live in praise.

There is hope for Darfur, His name is Jesus

Imagine everything about life and how you have learned to live. Sunday morning Church Services, Dinner at Grandma's, the Monday morning arrival at work, Wednesday's anticipation of Friday night, the ball game on Saturday, the seasons and chores that they bring, and the holidays you have enjoyed and the food that had gone along with them. Every fiber of your life from brushing your teeth in the morning, to your favorite song, and smells to the refreshing night air and even your pillow.  These things you are familiar with, they are common to you.
For the Darfurian, everything, EVERYTHING in their lives have been destroyed completely along with there loved ones. Every function of daily living has been reduced to survival and will never recover to the same nomadic interdependent culture that they had known.
I admit, it is hard to imagine, I have a hard time imagining it myself, but it is true. It is estimate that 450,000 have been killed and millions pushed from their homes to the border of Chad, South Sudan and within IDP camps within the charred landscape which was once their home.  There exist medicine, food and water for the body, but the only salve that exist for the soul of those that have witnessed the atrocities is the salvation of Jesus. read more in Journal
